How to order the wallpaper correctly

Plan the size of the wallpaper carefully. Remember that it is not possible to add additional elements (strips) to an already printed wallpaper.

To perfectly match the pattern to your wall, we need the following information:

1. What are the dimensions of the wall or the area for the wallpaper?

Measure the wall/area precisely and add 5 cm to both height and width.
Then enter the values in cm and we will calculate the necessary square meters for you.

2. Do you intend to place larger furniture, e.g., a wardrobe, in front of the wallpaper that could obscure the pattern?

We will adjust the pattern for you so that it is not covered by a piece of furniture. Please enter this information in our comment field at the end of the order.

MALUMI wallpapers are made of vinyl with an additional non-woven layer, which makes them particularly robust and resistant to dirt and moisture. This construction combines the advantages of vinyl and non-woven and is manufactured in Germany to meet the highest standards. When introducing new patterns, MALUMI carefully tests to ensure that the texture looks optimal, so you don't have to worry about which wallpaper texture to choose. Wallpaper Installation

You can easily apply MALUMI products to the selected surface. Here we explain the process to master the task.

Please note that we cannot accept complaints for MALUMI wallpapers and stickers where attempts have already been made to apply them. Before you start, check the chosen pattern, color, and quantity.
Make sure the MALUMI wallpaper you received matches your order.
Use adhesive for vinyl wallpaper. MALUMI wallpapers weigh almost 300g/m2.

Steps

1. Determining horizontal adhesive lines

Unroll the wallpaper strips and arrange them so that the entire pattern is visible. Plan the order of installation of the wallpaper strips. Begin installation by marking the spots on the wall where the vertical lines (where the wallpaper strips meet) should appear. Use a laser level to ensure the markings are straight. When planning, consider the installation overlap added to the wallpaper's dimensions.

2. Determining vertical adhesive lines

Before you later glue the wallpaper to the wall, mark the vertical lines along the entire height of the wall. This ensures that there are no shifts during application. Remember, do not mark them permanently!

3. Applying the adhesive

Apply the adhesive to the wall surface and spread it evenly with a brush to create a uniform layer.

Important: Do not apply the adhesive to the surface of the photo wallpaper!

4. Gluing the photo wallpaper

Place a strip of wallpaper with adhesive on the surface and slide it slowly and gently along its entire length to apply it.

5. Smoothing out unevenness

Smooth the surface of the wallpaper with a pressure roller or a wallpaper brush to remove any air bubbles.

6. Gluing subsequent wallpaper panels

Repeat steps 1 to 5 for the next strips of wallpaper until all are applied to the wall surface.

Important: Use a sponge or a cloth with slightly damp water to gently remove excess adhesive.

7. Matching the photo wallpaper

Pay special attention to matching the graphic (all wallpaper strips are ready to "merge"). Use a wallpaper roller to smooth the seams. Trim any overlapping edges.

What and how does MALUMI print?

MALUMI places great importance on children being able to play in a healthy environment, especially in their own rooms! Therefore, they only use certified materials and print with ecologically certified pigments.

The wallpaper you select is printed immediately after your order. No products are kept in stock at MALUMI's production house - printing is done specifically for you! This approach allows the wallpaper to be optimally adapted to your interior, from the colors to the proportions for each individual wall.

MALUMI uses large format printers for printing. The MALUMI wallpaper pattern is printed on a vinyl base with a FloLine primer, which is made from a mixture of cellulose and polyester non-woven fabric with latex. The wallpaper is then installed using standard tools and techniques, as used for traditional wallpaper installation.
