The Design4Kids Cocoons are a quiet retreat for children aged 3 to 14 – soft, safe, and timeless in design. Made from 100% cotton, they feel pleasant against the skin and invite relaxation, reading, and dreaming.

The XXL version is now also available as a newly reinforced model and supports up to 90 kg – ideal for one or two children. Each Cocoon set always consists of three parts and can be securely and flexibly attached thanks to the new suspension (2026 model).

Safety Instructions

Important notes on using the hanging chair

• Attach only to load-bearing ceilings!
• Suitable are, for example, concrete or solid wooden beams. Not suitable: plasterboard or suspended ceilings.
• Observe max. load capacity - The hanging chair can support up to 90 kg – please do not exceed this.
• Mount only with suitable, secure fastenings!
• Ideally with high-quality dowels and hooks – consult a professional if in doubt.
• Not a play device - Please do not swing wildly, jump, or spin – risk of falling and injury.
• Always use under supervision - Especially with smaller children.
• Allow enough clear space - Maintain a distance of at least 1 m from walls and furniture.
• Soft base recommended - For example, a carpet or playmat under the hanging chair.

Suitable ceiling hook absolutely necessary

Important

The cotton fabric must not twist. Use without a suitable, lubricated rotatable ceiling hook can lead to material damage to the fabric.

Do not use additional springs

No additional springs or similar elements may be installed, as these can lead to increased tension and material stress, and cause damage to the fabric.

Check regularly

Regularly check hooks, suspension, ropes, and fabrics for wear, damage, or loosening.

Washing Instructions

• Wash gently
• Clean only at a maximum of 20 °C on a gentle or delicate wash cycle.

• Use suitable detergent
• Please use only a mild liquid detergent.

• Bleach
• Optical brighteners
• Enzymes
• Fabric softeners

ATTENTION: Absolutely observe before washing

• Completely remove metal rings, carabiners, or suspensions.
• Untie all knots.
• Place the hanging chair in a large laundry net.

• Spin gently
• Maximum 600 rpm, ideally less.
• High spin speeds create strong tensile forces in the seam area and can damage the material.

• Air drying recommended
• Allow to air dry flat or loosely hanging.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as UV radiation attacks cellulose and reduces the strength of the fabric.

ATTENTION: Check regularly
After washing, check the fabric, seams, and suspension for damage or wear before the hanging chair is loaded again.
